#ForeverMyLady: Kim Porter’s Ex Al B. Sure Shares Touching Tribute

Al B. Sure has spoken out following the death of Kim Porter, who was the mother of his son, Star actor Quincy Brown.

The model and actress was found dead in her Los Angeles home after suffering from cardiac arrest, TMZ reports. She was 47. It is still not clear what caused her death, though there are reports that she had been suffering through a bout of pneumonia in recent days.

The pair dated before she met Diddy. Al. B Sure is the biological father of Porter’s son Quincy Brown, 27, whom Diddy raised as his own.

The Grammy-nominated producer, born Albert Brown, shared an intimate Instagram post on Friday as a tribute to her passing. In the throwback shot, Porter and Al B. Sure can be seen with their foreheads touching.

He captioned the photo with a broken heart emoji, and a hashtag that paid tribute to the role Porter played in inspiring his writing of Jodeci’s 1991 hit, “Forever My Lady.”

During an episode of TV One’s Unsung, Al B. Sure said he was inspired to write the song when he learned Porter was pregnant with his son.

“I remember they were working on the song and they couldn’t come up with the lyrics and Al looked at me and he was like, ‘So you’re having my baby.’ And I was like, ‘Ohhhh!’” Porter said.

Diddy has yet to personally make a public announcement, though his rep told Peoplethat the mogul is “devastated.”
